Colour Splurge:
This is my favourite app out of the three. There's so much you can do to edit you photos and its very easy to use and there's a wide range of effects to choose from. My favourite thing about it the colour editing tool, as you can transform a simple image into something good.
Features of this app are: -Colourize -Filters -Multiple resolutions -Selective De-saturation. |

Sheldon Serkin
Serkin has been a Mobile photographer in New York since 2010. He is a Grand Prize winner and “Mobile Photographer of the Year” in the 2014 Mobile Photo Awards. As he is a great photographer he is a judge for the 5th annual Mobile photography awards.
This is a great photo even though it's really simple. I like the idea behind this as the photo is taken from behind a window on a rainy day, it almost makes you feel like that it's you looking out of a window. The red umbrella stands out, especially since you can't see the person, it looks like a shadow.
I like the way you can see the lights in the background, you can see the reflections of them on the floor. This represents city life, you can see the street lights, traffic lights and cars. The rainy weather portrays typical city like weather.
The photo has a high depth of field even though the lights are blurred,I like the way there isn't any lighting apart from the street and car lights that are already on the street. the focus of the photo is in the centre and all the background is in the shadows, the centre is where all the content is as you can see the person walking with the umbrella and cars. |
Andy Butler
Andy Butler is a UK Iphone Photographer. He is very passionate about mobile photography and he is also a judge of the 5th annual mobile photography.
Andy Butler is a photographer from the UK, this is a photo of a pub which is something you see quite often in the UK. The image is in black and white so it seems really old. You can see the texture of the walls, the paint is chipping off the door and walls so it looks like its been there for ages. I like the way the image of the pub fills the whole picture, there's nothing else in the shot but a little bit of the sky. The focus point is on the whole pub as you can clearly read the writing and there's also some shadowing in the corners which helps to make the photo look old.
Steve Mayers
He is an architectural photographer working in the UK for architects, developers to take professional images of building.
This is a very simple photograph of a house. I like the way he has used a long depth of field for this photo, this is very easy to replicate. Everything is in focus, you can see the grass, the lavender and the house. There is a wide range of colours in this photograph however I think it would look better with a filter to create more effect and to make those colours stand out.

This is a great photo to replicate because there are many buildings in the area I live in so it would not be hard to find something to take a photo of. I like the way this photo is just of the building, there's no sky or ground included in this. You can see the detail as it's focused. I think is a great picture even though it's simple.

TRAVIS JENSEN.
Travis Jensen is a photographer from the USA, his main focus is on street scenes, street portraits and urban landscapes.
Shoot 1: Architecture
This was a great shoot because the location had a variety of different architecture. This shoot gave me the opportunity to take photos from different angles.
Worst:
This is the worst photo. The task was to take photos of Architecture but as you can see this photo does represent that.
Best:
This is my best photo because of the angle it was taken at. I like the way you can see all of the windows in rows, I think the black and white effect works well.
I think this is a great photo as there's 3 buildings, there is a modern building on the right and the old hotel on the left.I also used a medium depth of field for this photo so you could see the background clearly.

Shoot 2: Christmas in Manchester
This shoot was extremely good, I had fun whilst going around taking photos. We visited the Christmas markets in Manchester.
Worst:
This was a failed attempt of trying to take a photo of Christmas markets, it's out of focus. In my next shoot I will adjust the focus point and depth of field.
Best:
This is a great photo because of the focus point , everything is lined up.
No photo can represent Christmas in Manchester better than this. You can see the market stalls, lights, Santa and it's raining! This is would've been a typical day in Manchester with bad weather and people with umbrellas but it's not. There are lights draped on roofs and different stalls and a giant glittery Santa. This photo shows the Christmas spirit we have in Manchester, people are out in Christmas markets shopping despite the cold rainy day. The long depth of field has made a bigger area of focus which is great as nothings blurry or out of focus.
This is one of the best photos I've taken for mobile photography. The photo is so clear, the olives and tomatoes are almost shimmering under the light, the angle is also perfect for this photo, I have managed to include everything it has great composition. The best thing about this picture is the variety of colour, there's red tomatoes green and black olives and white garlic. I used a large depth of field and the exposure is perfect.

Shoot 3: Splash of Yellow
For this shoot we were given a colour that we had to find to take photographs. My colour was Yellow, It was a hard to find that colour in the middle of the city centre, the only thing we found which was yellow was the Metrolink.
Shoot 4: Cathedral
Worst:
This is the worst image because it out focus and the exposure isn't set correctly. It's too dull. Next time I will make sure I am holding the phone steady when taking photos.
Best:
I really like this image as you can see the patterns and architecture. I like the way all of the lamps are lit and how everything is in focus due to a large depth of field.
This is a great photograph. I love the fact that it's colourful and you can see all the arches because of the angle.
This has been taken from a totally different angle. It makes you feel like you are sat in that chair looking towards the front where the window is, I chose this angle to create different effects.

Shoot 5:Life in Manchester.
Worst:
Best:
As Manchester is a city there are lot's of vehicles and this is what the photo shows. The photo is clear and the exposure is perfect. I have taken this a certain angle to capture the motorbikes and the road, I was lucky enough to take the photo when a cab and bus was passing by.
When walking through Manchester city centre you can see many buskers. This image shows a lady playing an instrument, I've chosen this as it's a part of Manchester life, This is a great photo because it meets the criteria and it's in focus.
This photo was taken in the style of Travis Jensen. I used his idea of using a black and white filter. I captured a busker with a instrument like he did. I also used a high depth of field.
Football is a big part of Manchester as it has two of the world's biggest teams situated here. Being a big city public transport is also a big part of daily life. In this image I have managed to represent both. The focus point is perfect for this image as it's clear.
Evaluation:
Mobile photography was great. It gave me the chance to take photos on the go with my phone. I got to explore apps on my photo to edit photos which worked well. I got to take some great photos in the Cathedral and at the Xmas markets.
