Research-Ross Hoddinott
Ross Hoddinott is one of the UK's leading landscape photographers, even-though he is best known for his macro and close-ups photography. Ross is also an ambassador for Nikon..
Examples of his Landscape photography:
Bedruthan Steps
Cornwall, Uk
This is such a beautiful photo, I love the different contrasts of the colours and the infusion in the sky. It is a focused picture and the exposure is on point. The patterns in the sand look lovely and so does the sky. He has used a long depth of field as well, to make it even better! Looking at this photo you wouldn't believe it was taken here in the UK, on a beach in Cornwall you'd think it was taken on a nice tropical beach half way across the world and that's all down to Ross Hoddinott's amazing photography skills.

Dunstanburgh castle

This is another photo taken by Ross. Once again he has used a different angle which suits this photo. I love the way he has used the rocks in the photo and the water. The colours look very nice, it's like a themed photo.

Day 1 - Beach
DAY 1- ANALYSIS:
WORST;
There is not a focus point on this photo, it is very blurry and the lighting is not as great as it could have been.
This is very out of focus and therefore blurry, the exposure is not correct and it's very plain and boring.
This is over exposed, it is too bright to see anything and make out the texture of the rock.
BEST:
This is my favourite photo because you can see everything clearly because the exposure is correct and its focused. I also like the fact that you can see the sun setting and the light difference in the sky, it really creates effect.
This is a good photo because I like the water movements and I also like the sky. I think it is focused and the exposure was fine.

DAY 2- ANALYSIS
WORST;
This photo is the worst because it's not as great as the others, it has no proper focus point, it's boring and pretty dull.
BEST;
This is a beautiful photograph! I love the way there is the reflection of the sun upon the water, it creates effect. This was taken with a large depth of field, you can see everything. The sky looks light and the water looks darker. I think this is perfect exposure for a photo like this.
This photo captures the splash created when the water crashes on to the rocks. To take this photo I had to be patient. It took so many attempt to take one good photo! This picture is a close up on a few rocks water,I managed to take this whilst my camera was on manual which was great. I kept the exposure the in the middle for this.
This is a wonderful photograph, I love the way there is the sun,sea and seagulls! Once again the sun really creates effect, although the sun is shining directly at the camera you can't see it because of the exposure. The different shades in the photograph are amazing. This is probably one of my best photos!
This is my best close-up shot I have ever taken! This was just a random photo I took, yet it looks as if I have planned it out and thought about how to take this, even the leafs were already there! All I had to do was put the camera on the floor and alter the exposure and DoF.

Day 3
DAY 3- ANALYSIS;
WORST;
This image is overexposed, you can hardly see anything,as it's too bright.
BEST:
This is a good close up shot of a rock. The small depth of field has made the background out of focus. Even though the rest of the image is blurry the rock can be seem clearly due to the focus point of the image.
This is a good image as it has different contrasts of brightness, the rocks look dark but the water looks bright. The image is also clear.

Evaluation:
This section of unit one was every fun. It was a great opportunity to go out and take photos out in Anglesey. It really gave me chance to use camera skills as the pictures I was taking needed to have the perfect exposure and brightness.
